Front Row - Ashley Tywonek, Logan McClure, Emma Valentine, Dea Hanlon, Kennedy Smith.
Second Row - Julia Fruck, Sarah Tywonek, Payton Storey, Sophia Ketsetzis, Ruby Wingrave, Kaitlyn Nash, Julia Wiepjes, Amanda Wiepjes, Natalie Duarte Absent: Amber Pettitt
Back Row - Andy Tywonek (Manager/Coach), Chuck Valentine (Asst. Coach), Ken Wiepjes (Asst. Coach).
The 2010 Ancaster ‘A’ Squirt team had a slow start to the regular season starting with a 1-4 record. The team turned the corner and finished with a 7-2 streak down the stretch, finishing 4th in the regular season (8-6).
The girls came out very determined in the play-offs showing that all their hard work throughout the season had improved both defensively and offensively.
The Ancaster ‘A’ squad played the Ancaster ‘B’ squad in the first game of the play-offs and managed to pull off a spirited close win 13-10. The girls then played the first place Greensville squad and played a terrific game defensively and pulled off an upset 13-7. The girls’ confidence was growing. One game away from the Championship game, the girls pulled off a gem. They played Puslinch and scored the maximum 6 runs in each of the 4 innings they played to mercy them 24-7. The Caledonia squad clawed their way back with their competitive spirit from a first round loss to Puslinch and excelled to the Championship game to meet Ancaster ‘A’. But as with the first 3 games of the play-offs the Ancaster ‘A’ squad played with a high level of confidence and never looked back, taking the Championship 13-7 over Caledonia. During the play-offs the team outscored their opponents 63-31, and had a team on base average of 660.
Congratulations to the entire Ancaster ‘A’ squad for a fantastic season! |

2011 Rep Manager Applications |
|
|
|
Written by Joe Benedetti
|
|
Tuesday, 03 August 2010 |
The league is accepting applications for Team Managers for the 2011 season. Individual assistant coaching positions are determined by the Team Manager and not by the league.
The league supports rep teams in Squirt, Novice, Bantam and Midget in both Tier 1 and 2 levels. Convener Joe Benedetti would like to stress that it is an essential condition for selection that team managers will work in the spirit of cooperation for their mutual benefit and for the benefit of the greater needs of the league and will agree to attend meetings as he sees fit to achieve these objectives.
The softball director will interview every applicant on the phone or over a coffee to discuss philosophy and plans for season, etc.
Applications are submitted directly through the online form available from the link below and are sent directly to Softball Convener Joe Benedetti. Applications will be accepted until midnight on Monday, August 16, 2009 with decisions made shortly thereafter.
