The exciting tryout time is upon us for our Ancaster Blizzard program. Dates for the Novice, Bantam, and Midget are or will soon be posted on this site.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our Blizzard teams over the years, with many tournament medals, and teams qualifying for PWSA Provincal Grand Championships. In 2007 our Bantam Tier 2 team won the Eastern Canadians, going and incredible 16 - 0 in the 3 tourneys. In 2008 our Novice team was within 1 run of representing us in the Eastern Canadians in PEI.
However, our program is not about results and wins, it is more about development and commitment and effort. We choose to compete, in what many would say, is the best fastpitch league in Canada - The Grand Valley League. We have indoor gym clinics all year round. We have lots of practices during the year and we work hard. Often our teams have some slow starts, as most of our players do not play PWSA Rep before Novice, but as the season progresses our hard work at practice and our "keep learning and competing" philosophy makes us a team that will improve as the year and years go on.
As our players and coaches continue to develop a passion for fastpitch, we all understand that passion means enjoyment and fun, but it also comes with some suffering and sacrifice as well
All players are asked to tryout for our Tier 1 teams at Midget and Bantam. Our Tier 1 Managers will be offering positions to Tier 1 players as soon as possible and ask for their commitment. By having all the players on the diamonds, we derive many advantages: Both coaching staffs get to meet and observe all the players, which helps when using callups during the year for some tourneys, exhibition games, etc. It also gives them a heads up on some younger players that are "coming along" for future years.
This way it is our expectation to have strong teams at both Tiers.
If you have any questions contact the Managers or myself
