The league is accepting applications for Team Managers for the 2010 season. Individual assistant coaching positions are determined by the Team Manager and not by the league.
The league supports rep teams in Novice, Bantam and Midget in both Tier 1 and 2 levels. Convener Joe Benedetti would like to stress that it is an essential condition for selection that team managers will work in the spirit of cooperation for their mutual benefit and for the benefit of the greater needs of the league and will agree to attend meetings as he sees fit to achieve these objectives.
The softball director will interview every applicant on the phone or over a coffee to discuss philosophy and plans for season, etc.
Applications are submitted directly through the online form available from the link below and are sent directly to Softball Convener Joe Benedetti. Applications will be accepted until midnight on Monday, August 17, 2009 with decisions made shortly thereafter.

Ancaster Hosts Midget 2 Provincials |

Wednesday, 29 July 2009 |
Ancaster will be hosting the Tier 2 Midget Provincial Grand Championships on August 7 - 9, 2009 at the Community Centre Diamonds. Hosting an event like this requires many volunteers. I was wondering if you are around that weekend and happen to have some time on your hands, that maybe you would like to come out, catch some great ball and put in an hour or two helping to make things runs smoothly. There are many areas that we will require help at...such as Official Scorekeeping (scorekeeping course is August 5th @6pm, Lions Club Pool), Grounds, BBQ etc.
If you have some Teenagers that would to accumulate some Community Service hours, we would welcome their enthusiasm.
By the way...Ancaster will be participating in the Provincials legitimately as they came fourth at their qualifiers in Whitby this past weekend!
If you have any questions, please call me.
Thanks in advance
Bernie Anstett

This past Saturday, July 18th, the Ancaster Girls Bantam House league team took the silver medal home from the fastball championship game against Brampton. In pool play the girls won against Mississauga by mercy, and then lost by being mercied by Brampton. This caused them to have to cross over & play the top team of the other pool in order to advance. This match up was against Dundas Running Rebels, a team that Ancaster had never beaten this season during league play. Ancaster came up with a fabulous effort at the plate with their bats coming alive early. Together with aggressive base running they were able to glide to the win and head into the finals. This rematch with Brampton proved to be a far better game than earlier in the day. Strong hitting kept Ancaster in the game, and after pulling to within three runs of the lead, a time curfew halted their comeback. The girls settled for the silver, but put forth a great effort against the Select team from Brampton. |
