Ancaster Blizzard Midgets brought back the gold from St. Catharines this weekend. Despite some tough moments the girls rallied when necessary and went undefeated 4 - 0 in Round Robin play Friday and Saturday. Sunday morning the girls played Port Perry in the semi final game and came away with a 7-3 win.
Advancing to the final the bats really came alive and Ancaster clinched the Gold Medal with a 10 - 0 win over Cambridge. In the Bronze Medal game Port Perry triumphed over Oakville. Good job Ladies. The girls will be in Toledo Ohio next weekend doing their best to repeat their Gold Medal performance from 2009.

Our season is set to begin the week of Monday, May 10th with many teams in action the first week.
We wish all the teams all the best as they enjoy the great spring weather on our first rate diamonds at the Community Centre.
New this year each registered player in Ancaster Little League will be asked to purchase or sell one (1) Family Savings Book at a cost of $20.00.
The profits will be added to our existing CC Park Improvement Fund, currently at over $5,000.00 due to the hard work of many volunteers over the past few years. We are looking to erect a Pavillion and a Batting Cage at CC in the very near future. The Savings Book is a good value, with many of the favourite food chains and entertainment establishments. There are 2 for 1 rounds of golf for the weekend hackers out there too!
We thank you in advance for your support of this program and be sure to ask your coach if you are able to sell additionnal books
Visit this website in the weeks ahead to read about our results in this initiaitive

This year our Ancaster Girls Softball program will enforce a strict policy that all players supply and wear their own personal batting helmet WITH FULL FACIAL PROTECTION for obvious safety concerns
It is to be used at all games and practices when batting.
To this end the team equipment bags will NOT include any helmets,
For players who have purchased a helmet without a cage or mask,in most cases they can be purchased separately and installed.
Most sport stores stock helmets, which are adjustable as the player ages, so the helmet, if cared for properly should last several seasons
Please consider Wentworth Sports on Main Street West and HWY 2, Mike Grover, who is also our uniform supplier has stock

If you want more information on the 2010 season, you can visit www.fmsa.ca. The 2010 schedule will be posted soon, the playoff dates are already posted. Our Ancaster Select Tourney is also posted on this website and all Ancaster teams will enter. A select team will be formed for the Squirt division as we have 2 teams at that age group
All girls are required to wear their own helmet, which must include facial protection. No helmets will be supplied by the coaches.
Be careful, start slow, but get out there and play catch and swing a bat with your daughter.
